Many designs won't need to go deeper than this. Seriously. I've spun out 6, with both light and dark modes, and two of them I didn't have to touch. Another 2 I wanted shifts in contrast. One I added color coding and extra artifacts to support complex data; and I rebranded it before production. The decisions took minutes, the proof of concept in a couple selected combinations another few minutes. Wrangling Figma's bullshit variables and backend sieving took days. Figma is the weak link.
