It's the thread through this entire site, but just to be unequivocal:

Humanity rocks.

Yeah, we've got our problem children (some of them closer to centenarian than baby; age is a state of mind!). But overall, I like us. The problem children are the exception, not the rule; they just tend to be such a problem that they take up more mental and watch-for space than they should.

Humanity rocks.

We are making hell on earth for every life that evolved to live in the sweet spot we've been in for the last few million years or so. Just to be clear, that includes humanity and every life that helps us survive. But still, we did that because of the tools we created. If we redesign the tools to keep the bits that are useful and remove the bits pushing climate change, we can turn back the temperature clock – as long as we do it before it hits a tipping point. The problem children are involved in how/why we are continuing to stick to the status quo; we have to give them a time out.

Humanity rocks.

We are a freaking delight. Seriously. Do you like watching squirrels and cats and dogs do their delightful things? Get a person not thinking about (how to continue having shelter, attaining food, getting from A to B, what's happening on social, what's happening in politics, how do I meet expectations, how does this...) for a few hours, long before they hit exhaustion, and see what happens. The difference: it could become a collaboration. The average person is not going to startle and run away if you move. We can all delight and have a bit of joy; and, it can be shared, making it sweeter.

We already know this, deeply. We make music and theatre, dance and play sports. They are intrinsically participatory.

Humanity fucking rocks.

In so many ways. There will be ways that we can't even dream of today.

To see it, we let humanity keep rocking by maintaining personal agency. We get hierarchical individuals out of humanity's way, so every individual can add their voice. And we let humanity evolve and emerge, down to every individual. Self-defined, not defined by a system.

Humanity can fucking rock.
